NFL Needs to Drop the Hammer on Raiders LB Vontaze Burfict With Reported Incoming Suspension
By Thomas Carannante

It's time to take care of business here, Roger Goodell.
For all the suspensions we've seen for substance abuse, it's time we start properly banning players who are repeat offenders for dirty play on the gridiron. After all, that's truly about player safety.
That's why the NFL needs to drop the hammer on Oakland Raiders LB Vontaze Burfict for his latest offense.
Raiders LB Vontaze Burfict will be suspended as early as today for his hit on Colts TE Jack Doyle, per sources. Based on his history, it is likely to be multi-games.

2018
4 games for PED violation
2017
4 games for hit on Anthony Sherman
2016
4 games for hit on Antonio Brown.
While the league certainly hasn't taken his antics lightly, it's time we see a long-term ban that goes beyond the four-game standard. With new rules adapted to help foster player safety, those who go out of their way to violate them should be punished even more severely.
Vontaze Burfict is facing a season-long suspension for his late conduct on field, per source.

Good. Get him out.
Fans know the game is fast, but there's no defending these types of hits. Everyone knows when a player is giving himself up or is in the process of being taken down by other defenders, so these vicious add-on head-hunting blows need to be disciplined more seriously.
Vontaze Burfict is the dirtiest player in the league. This is ridiculous. pic.twitter.com/7y7NIHyp4J

All he needed to do was touch Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle. That's it. He didn't need to lower the crown of his helmet and launch himself at the man's head.
That's how careers get altered for the worse, and Burfict's should be in jeopardy after this.
