3 NFL Teams Dumb Enough to Sign Percy Harvin

Ever since former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski came out of retirement to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday, it seems like every other player out of the league is trying to make a comeback. Ex-NFL wide receiver Percy Harvin started posting workout videos in hopes of building up momentum for a comeback, and while he looks to be in impressive shape, the guy hasn't played football since 2016 and will soon be 32 years old. There would definitely have to be a readjustment period, to say nothing of his past issues with nagging injuries and erratic behavior.

With those red flags in mind, these three NFL teams would definitely be in position to fall for the Harvin hype and sign the former Seahawks Super Bowl champ anyway.

The Raiders are in desperate need for wide receivers entering the NFL Draft. Even though the team is likely to use one of their first-round picks on a wideout, you can't rule out head coach Jon Gruden taking a chance and buying low on Harvin. This is the same coach who brought in offensive lineman Richie Incognito despite his troubling off-field behavior, after all. Harvin is grinding in the gym to make a return to the league, and we all know that Gruden loves his "grinders." Vegas brought on washed-up Jason Witten in free agency, so Harvin donning the Silver and Black in 2020 wouldn't come as a total shock.

2. Washington Redskins

If there's any team that would sign a big name past their prime, it's the Redskins -- they've done it before with Deion Sanders. When looking at the team's receiving corps, the only quality option is Terry McLaurin; considering that it doesn't appear they'll address the position in the early rounds of the NFL Draft, we'd expect owner Dan Snyder to resort to the open market and make every mistake in the book as usual. Snyder has created a reputation of caring more about his finances than putting a winning product on the field, so signing Harvin is right up his alley.

3. Dallas Cowboys

Come on, this one's easy. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been no stranger to adding former big-name receivers to "America's Team" even if the fit isn't there. Terrell Owens. Randall Cobb. The list goes on. Dallas did sign Amari Cooper to a long-term extension this offseason, but they don't have much depth behind the star receiver other than Michael Gallup. Even if Big D uses an early draft pick on a wideout, Jones has proven throughout his tenure that he'll never pass on the chance to make a splash, and don't forget that he's all about giving opportunities to players who find themselves on the outside of the league looking in. He just did it with Aldon Smith, so you can't rule out Harvin suiting up for the Cowboys if he really does break back into the league.
