NFL Teams Actually Want Buccaneers Disciplined for Tom Brady's Recent Actions
By Scott Rogust
Football media is getting a kick out of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady's antics down in Florida. From working out in a closed public park to accidentally trespassing into a stranger's home, people couldn't help but laugh. As it turns out, the 31 other organizations don't find these incidents too funny.
According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, NFL teams are pushing for the league to give "stern discipline" to Brady and the Bucs for ignoring social distancing restrictions, as well as caps on who he can and cannot speak to.
Bottom line: Why, exactly, is Brady wandering to Byron Leftwich's home in the middle of the night, anyway?
The other teams have a valid point. Commissioner Roger Goodell effectively closed team facilities and implored players to self-quarantine during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. As a result, teams are now holding voluntary workouts in a virtual format, due to coaches and players being banned from interacting face-to-face.
Brady, though, was working out in a public park that was closed due to the social distancing guidelines imposed by the state of Florida. Oh, and in the home invasion incident, Brady was actually looking for offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich's house to obtain learning materials, although sources told ESPN that both tried to follow social distancing guidelines during their exchange.
NFL organizations not named the Buccaneers want the NFL to take action against the team and Brady. If coaches can't meet with their players, then neither can Tom Brady.
