NFL Testing Le'Veon Bell at Conclusion of Terrible Season is a Complete Joke
By Michael Luciano
There hasn't been much to smile about for Le'Veon Bell and the New York Jets this season, but the former Steelers running back managed to get a kick out of the NFL's rabid desire to make sure he isn't playing on any illicit substances.
Bell is struggling in a career-worst season, but that hasn't stopped the NFL from testing Le'Veon for HGH before their season finale against the Buffalo Bills.
The man hasn't topped 100 yards in a game this year, and now you decide to test him?
Bell hasn't even cracked 800 yards this season, and is putting up a career-low 3.3 yards per carry, as Adam Gase has reached his fourth year as a head coach in the NFL without determining how to properly use a running back.
Bell might be in the middle of the worst year of his career in the league's worst offense, in terms of yards per game, but he's been a consummate professional and team leader, even while he's on a team that is spinning its tires on offense.
Hopefully GM Joe Douglas either improves the offensive line or has the intestinal fortitude to make a coaching change if he wants to truly unlock the potential of Bell in New York. If not, expect a similar 2020, replete with a Week 17 courtesy drug test.
