Nick Foles Got More Write-in Votes in 2019 Philadelphia General Election Than Carson Wentz
By Jerry Trotta
It would appear that the City of Brotherly Love is still hanging onto the Philadelphia Eagles' victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
Of course, Nick Foles filled in for starting gunslinger Carson Wentz, who was injured on the cusp of the postseason, played brilliantly and ultimately led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl title.
Well, the booths have closed for Philadelphia's 2019 general election, and it was recently revealed that Foles (13) received more write-in votes than Wentz (3).
The city of Philly voting Foles -- who is long moved on in Jacksonville -- for the positions of mayor, judge, commissioner, sheriff, register of wills, and City Council, over Wentz -- the guy expected to be under center for the franchise for the next decade (depending on health, of course) -- says a lot, does it not?
The thing is, however, we're not sure if these voting results are the product of Wentz's struggles this season or Foles' undisputed legend status in Philadelphia.
Perhaps it's a little bit of both.
If one thing's clear, it's that Foles is still widely regarded as a legend in Philadelphia
