An ESPN on-air host is under fire for comments made about ex-college football coach Urban Meyer.

During a highlight reel of the Fiesta Bowl between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Clemson Tigers, SportsCenter anchor John Anderson made a quick but questionable remark about Meyer as he was shown on the sidelines, saying [Meyer] was going to spend time with his family, but went to this game instead."

The comment, possibly meant as nothing more than throwaway humor, obviously irked Meyer's family, including his oldest daughter, Nicki.

She stressed that the entire Meyer family made the trip to Arizona to take in the Buckeyes' game. She asked ESPN to "have some class."

Meyers' other daughter, Gigi, joined in with her sister in reprimanding Anderson for the comments he made to the millions watching on SportsCenter.

To make matters that much more confusing, Meyer's son, Nate, was shown in the clip standing alongside his father on the sidelines.

Urban Meyer is far from the most popular guy in the football world, as evidenced by his role in the Zack Smith controversy, culminating in a three-game suspension in his final season at Columbus. But comments like Anderson's just aren't necessary, nor are they funny. Everyone now knows the Meyer family won't stand for such things.
