Noah Syndergaard Claps Back at Indians' Twitter After Mets Complete Series Sweep of Tribe
By Karl Rasmussen
The Cleveland Indians' PR team may be rethinking their recent tweet after last night's showing. The Tribe's Twitter account threw shade at the Mets by calling them a "fringe postseason team" ahead of the third game of the series.
The Mets proceeded to complete their sweep of the Indians on Thursday night, and Noah Syndergaard took the time to respond to Cleveland's jab on Twitter.
Syndergaard tossed six scoreless innings in the rain-shortened game and struck out five while surrendering just two hits without walking a batter. Thor was untouchable on the rubber, and it seemed like he was pitching with a bit of added motivation. Perhaps we've found the source.
The Indians needed to back up their pregame chirping with a win, but ultimately failed to do so and now look pretty foolish. Taking shots at a team that just took you down three straight times is typically not an ideal strategy.
Syndergaard's play of late has him feeling confident as ever, and after the Tribe took a shot at his team, he made sure they would eat those words.
And of course, he had to rub it in on social media.
