Breathe easy, Mets fans. Thor isn't going anywhere.

For what's felt like an eternity, Noah Syndergaard has been involved in all kinds of MLB trade deadline rumors. With countless teams going after him, it seemed like only a matter of time before the powerful righty was sent to a new team.

However, that's not going to happen. According to MLB insider Joel Sherman, the Mets took Syndergaard off the trade block on Tuesday night. He's staying in Flushing.

After landing Marcus Stroman from the Blue Jays, there was a growing expectation Syndergaard would be on the moved. The team mentioned the most in his trade rumors were the San Diego Padres. However, it's clear the two sides couldn't make a blockbuster deal happen.

On the year, Thor is 7-5, with a 4.10 ERA. He's also got 137 strikeouts to his name. When he's on his game, there's no denying Syndergaard is among the top starting pitchers in the bigs. This is why Mets fans were so reluctant to let him go.

The Mets currently stand 11 games back of the Braves in the NL East standings and are five games back of a Wild Card Spot.

Though the odds of postseason play are certainly against them, having Syndergaard in the rotation will only help their chances of going on a run and making it to the playoffs.
