Noah Syndergaard Rips NYC Landlord on Twitter Over Rent Dispute
By Michael Luciano
Even star MLB players like New York Mets star Noah Syndergaard have problems paying rent, as his landlord insists that he hasn't given him a dime despite renting out a New York City penthouse.
Syndergaard claims that he was willing to pay rent despite living in Florida due to the pandemic and his Tommy John rehab, and that he gave notice to try and re-rent after the pandemic shut down the country. He also accused his landlord of leaking a supposedly false story in an attempt to make him look bad.
Syndergaard clearly had enough and took to Twitter to voice his anger.
Throwing words like "extort" around shows that Syndergaard clearly believes he paid the rent required.
Syndergaard's landlord, who said Thor did not move into the apartment or pay any rent, claims the Mets pitcher has over $80,000 in unpaid rent to pay. He is suing Syndergaard for $250,000 in damages.
At this point, we're dealing with one person's word against another, and both sides of the story vary wildly as it pertains to key details of the agreement. Syndergaard has already put down the gloves and confirmed he is willing to take his landlord to court. Never mess with Thor.
