Nolan Arenado Pens Statement to Rockies Fans Amid Recent Drama
The Colorado Rockies openly took trade offers for Nolan Arenado this offseason, only to end up saying he isn't going anywhere.
That caused the star player to speak out against his general manager and what once seemed like a great situation has seemingly become a bit toxic. Arenado decided to clear the air by penning a statement directed to Rockies fans.
Arenado mentioning that he and the Rockies have talked about private matters this offseason did not come off as a positive based on this statement. He doesn't appear to be thrilled with the management in Colorado one year after signing an eight-year, $260 million deal. Although really, who could blame him? Their lack of additions an offseason after going 71-91 are concerning, to say the least.
He made it clear he will not speak on these matters anymore, but don't expect the media to listen to him on that. Come Spring Training, Arenado will be asked about the rumors assuming he is still on the Rockies roster. Until then, radio silence would be appreciated as the stud third baseman prepares for another season in Colorado, or elsewhere.
