Odell Beckham Jr's Lack of Production in Cleveland Proves He's the Problem, Not His Quarterback
By Michael Luciano
The Cleveland Browns, who supposedly won the Super Bowl in the offseason, have been the NFL's most disappointing team at 5-7, and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has looked like a shell of himself in the process.
Beckham has found the end zone just twice this season, and has only cracked 100 yards in two of his 12 games.
The only 100 yard performances came against the Jets, who are a joke, and the Seahawks, a game in which he had 101 yards receiving.
Beckham is still capable of pulling off some terrific moments of individual quality, but the consistency and reliability of said moments has been all over the place. Even as Baker Mayfield has shaken off his slump at the beginning season, Beckham remains ineffective, as Jarvis Landry appears to have more of a connection on the field with Mayfield.
Beckham's season in Cleveland hasn't been a disaster, but it's been inarguably a disappointment, and it's been wild to be able to give such an assessment without Eli Manning involved in any way, shape, or form. Either Mayfield and Beckham suddenly figure it all out and he gets back to his early New York Giants form, or his effectiveness will continue to be blunted in Freddie Kitchens' offense.
Clearly, Manning didn't ruin the shine on Beckham's career all by himself.
