Odell Beckham Jr Tweets Disappointment Over Players Who Didn't Vote on New NFL CBA

The newest collective bargaining agreement was passed on Sunday morning by a narrow margin of 1,019-959 votes. Considering the CBA was ratified by just 600 votes, there was an almost even split in terms of agreement and disagreements among the NFL's players. What adds fuel to the fire is that over 500 players refused to vote on the new CBA and instead allowed their colleagues to do the work for them.
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey pointed this out earlier on Sunday, and Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. shared that very same sentiment in a tweet later on in the night.
Beckham is playing the role of a disappointed father, saying that 500 players couldn't even muster the courage to vote on their playing future.
The main point of debate regarding this new offer was the addition of a 17th regular season game. Stars were furious to find out that salaries for the added game would be capped at $250,000, which would essentially be a pay cut for them. Also, the addition of a seventh playoff team per conference would allow only one team to receive a first round bye.
While top-tier players were opposed to this deal, Tramon Williams and NFLPA union president JC Tretter stressed that the new CBA give players increased benefits for their post-playing career.
Just like with politics, it's always important to vote. And if Beckham's frustration proves anything, it's that the next NFLPA meeting will be an extremely vocal affair.
