Ohio State Running Back JK Dobbins is a Perfect Fit for the Bills' Offense
By Jerry Trotta

The Buffalo Bills' first selection in next week's NFL Draft comes in the second round at pick No. 54, and they need to use that opportunity to address a glaring need at running back.
Frank Gore, who amassed 166 touches last season, likely won't be re-signed despite being productive at 36 years of age. Elsewhere, the jury is still out on whether 2019 third-round pick Devin Singletary can handle a full workload at the pro level.
That's where Ohio State star JK Dobbins, who could fall to Buffalo, comes into play. In fact, it's hard to conceive of a better fit for the 21-year-old Buckeye.

Getting quarterback Josh Allen as much help as possible should be a top priority for general manager Brandon Beane. Last season, the Bills made the playoffs despite an offense that ranked in the bottom third of the league in yards (24th) and points (23rd) per game in 2019.
Acquiring stud wide receiver Stefon Diggs via trade was a great start to doing just that, and landing a workhorse back like Dobbins would be the cherry on top of an encouraging offseason in Orchard Park.
In just three seasons with the Buckeyes, Dobbins produced 4,459 yards on the ground, including a record-setting 2,003-yard tally in 2019. He needs to develop in pass protection, but that's sure tol improve with time.

As a receiver, Dobbins is criminally underrated. Thinking of the havoc he and Singletary could wreak in two-back packages should have Bills Mafia buzzing.
Dobbins might have to split touches early on, but he has the makings to be a three-down back. That's a luxury that Buffalo hasn't boasted in its backfield for quite some time.
