Ohio State Stud RB JK Dobbins to Skip Senior Season and Enter NFL Draft
By Mark Powell
After a deflating loss to the Clemson Tigers on Saturday night in the College Football Playoff, one Ohio State Buckeye is ready for his next challenge.
Buckeyes RB JK Dobbins, who cemented his status as one of the best players at his position in this year's draft-eligible stock, will skip his Senior season and enter April's NFL showcase.
Dobbins left as he entered Columbus -- with pure class.
The former 4-star running back out of Texas was a huge get by Urban Meyer and then-OC Tom Herman, who were both excellent on the recruiting trail. In 2019, he netted 2,003 yards rushing and a whopping 21 touchdowns on the ground. Those gaudy numbers should land him on an NFL team in the first two round of the Draft, assuming he shows out at the Combine.
With the short shelf life of running backs, we can't blame Dobbins for cashing in a year early. In his absence, Ohio State will likely turn to Master Teague III, who put up respectable numbers as a backup this season, as the feature back in 2020.
