Ohio State Recruiting Trends Prove Buckeyes Will Be Just Fine Without Chase Young

Chase Young is set to be a top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft after showing off his dominance in college with the Ohio State Buckeyes. He had 16.5 sacks and 21 tackles for loss in 12 games last season. That type of production is not easy to replace.
Yet Ohio State has shown a knack for finding top defensive end talent in the recent past. The Bosa brothers, Joey and Nick, became stars as Buckeyes and Young followed in their footsteps. The team's latest top recruit is another end who could help fill the void left by the departing Young.

Tunmise Adeleye is a 4-star recruit from the IMG Academy in Florida. He stands 6-3 and is a top 100 prospect in the nation. Adeleye joins fellow defensive end Jack Sawyer in the Buckeyes' 2021 class.

Landing two top defensive end prospects after losing Young is not a bad consolation. The program has shown an ability to identify and develop players at the position and the players themselves want to join the program with the hopes of reaching the NFL after playing on such a big stage.
