Former NFL Receiver Terrelle Pryor in Critical Condition Following Stabbing in Pittsburgh
By Sam Dunn
The football world awoke to horrible news Saturday and is suddenly holding collective breaths. Terrelle Pryor, a former Ohio State Buckeyes standout who went on to play for five NFL teams as a wide receiver, was hospitalized in Pittsburgh after sustaining multiple stab wounds Friday night.
He is currently in critical condition.
The incident reportedly took place at the Heinz Lofts residence in Pittsburgh. Pryor grew up in Jeannette, Pennsylvania about 30 miles away.
Pryor last appeared in the NFL in 2018, logging two games for the Buffalo Bills. He's most remembered for his time in college as a quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes, to whom he committed as one of the most sought-after recruits in prep history. He threw for over 6,000 yards and threw 57 total touchdowns in three seasons in Columbus, adding 17 more on the ground, before withdrawing from school amid a memorabilia scandal that ultimately claimed the job of head coach Kim Tressel.
The NFL family losing one of its own far, far too soon would be an authentic tragedy. We wish only the best for the former Raiders, Browns, Redskins, Jets, and Bills player as he stares down this violent, scary moment.
