This preseason ranking doesn't come as much of surprise, with Oklahoma coming off a Big 12 championship win and a trip to the college football playoff.
Hopefully for the Sooners, Jalen Hurts will emerge as a star for the program similar to both Kyler Murray and Baker Mayfield. Hurts is looking for a fresh start with Oklahoma after spending his past three years with the Alabama Crimson Tide and being overshadowed by Tua Tagovailoa.
Texas junior quarterback Sam Ehlinger has been voted the Big 12 preseason offensive player of the year.

The looming matchup of Sam Ehlinger vs Jalen Hurts is just as exciting, if not more, than the previous matchup of Ehlinger and Kyler Murray.
Oklahoma and Texas run the Big 12, just as it should be.
