Kennedy Brooks will be back on the field in August after he was ruled to be innocent of any violations in a Title IX investigation against him this offseason.

The Oklahoma running back was alleged to have been physically violent toward a female student, and while the details of the case are unclear, the OU Title IX office determined that Brooks could not be charged, according to The Athletic.

It had previously been reported that Brooks had not been at the team's summer workouts since June.

Aside from the off-field implications of the alleged incident, this is good news for the Sooners. Brooks was the Big 12's premier running back as a redshirt freshman in 2018, rushing for over 1,000 yards on an incredible 8.9 yards per carry and adding 12 touchdowns on the ground.

Earlier Tuesday, Brooks was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team. He figures to be a huge part of the Sooners offensive attack next season under Head Coach Lincoln Riley.
