Oklahoma Shop to Sell 'Horns Down' Donuts at Football Games This Season
By Sean Facey
One contingent of Sooners fans are taking their hatred for the Texas Longhorns to the next level this season.
In the spirit of the long-standing rivalry between the Sooners and Longhorns, one donut shop is set to sell some sweet pastries in the shape of the notorious "Horns Down" gesture this year.
Hurts Donut will sell their sweet-tasting mockery of their rivals from Austin at home games this season outside of Gate 7 at the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
It's easy to imagine that the new creation will be especially popular this year, though it's unfortunate that they won't be able to sell them during a game against Texas. The Sooners, in keeping with tradition, will meet the Longhorns in the middle and play them in Dallas, Texas. One Hurts will definitely travel to the matchup, but will the similarly-named donut boutique follow?
The Sooners, ranked No. 4 to start the year, have high hopes of heading back to the College Football Playoff under new starting quarterback and Alabama transfer Jalen Hurts.
No. 10 ranked Texas have high hopes of their own, and will look to exact revenge for last year's 39-27 defeat as their own quarterback, Sam Ehlinger, enters his junior year.
Both teams for will be looking for the sweet taste of victory, but at least for this season, the Sooners will have a sweet taste of their own to look forward to every Saturday.
