VIDEO: Weird Old Clip of Carson Wentz and His Friends Doing Trick Garbage Can Shots Surfaces
By Jerry Trotta
What if we told you that Philadelphia Eagles gunslinger Carson Wentz was a YouTube sensation before taking the Missouri Valley Conference and the NFL by storm? It sounds like the introduction of a thrilling "30 for 30" right? Don't answer that. Rather, checkout this strange clip of Wentz and his friends performing trick garbage can shots with crumbled up pieces of paper.
Wentz and his buddies showed off their surreal and totally unedited trick shots in this near-five minute clip. The fact that a teenager as goofy as Wentz is now banking $28 million annually to quarterback one of the NFL's most prominent franchises is truly incredible, though it's safe to say he's matured quite a bit since his "GARBSHOTZ" days.
Wentz morphing from an awkward garbage can shooting phenom to one of football's greatest quarterbacks currently playing may be the greatest cinderella story of all time. ESPN filmmakers should be tracking down his former comrades and looking to recreate this gem of a video.
