Orioles Legend Jim Palmer Grew a Giant Lemon Even More Freakish Than His Career Stats
By Michael Luciano
Baltimore Orioles legend Jim Palmer has been spending his time in quarantine wisely, as his transition from baseball analyst and Hall of Famer to citrus grower has already yielded some insane results.
The three-time World Series champion and Orioles immortal apparently lives near some sort of nuclear test facility, as his lemon tree is producing lemons that are at least three times as big as they should be.
Where's George Mitchell on this one? This tree has been using "the cream" and "the clear" to make lemons that huge.
Palmer, a Hall of Famer with 268 wins, three Cy Youngs, two ERA titles, and a 2.86 career ERA credits legendary Orioles groundskeeper Pat Santarone with giving him the secrets on how to make this monstrosity possible, all the while taking a cheeky dig at former manager Earl Weaver.
Between being a Hall of Fame starting pitcher, a tremendous baseball analyst on MASN and a master citrus grower, Palmer seems like one of those people that just masters whatever he sets out to do.
