Orioles sign No. 1 pick Jackson Holliday to record deal

The Baltimore Orioles believe they have a star for the future on their hands, as they used the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft on high school phenom Jackson Holliday. Despite still being in HS, the sky is the limit for his potential.
Baltimore wasted no time getting things done with their top choice as well, with the two sides agreeing to a contract. And that deal has made history for a high school player.
No. 1 overall pick Jackson Holliday is in agreement with the Orioles on a record deal for a HS player, just a touch over No. 2 pick Druw Jones $8.185M deal. Holliday is a SS from Oklahoma and the son of Matt Holliday.

A lot of people thought that Baltimore would pick Druw Jones with the No. 1 selection, but they liked Holliday a bit more. We'll see how things play out here.
