Packers Releasing 10-Part Documentary About History of the Franchise
By Scott Rogust
Sports fans around the world haven captivated by ESPN's documentary series, "The Last Dance," which covers the final season of the Chicago Bulls dynasty. That, in part, is due to the lack of professional sports being played due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As it turns out, the Green Bay Packers have hopped on the bandwagon well before ESPN.
The Packers have created the ten-part documentary, "Legacy: 100 Seasons of the Green Bay Packers," which chronicles the entirety of the team's existence. Each episode will cover a decade in the organization's history, beginning with 1919-1929 and concluding with 2009-2019.
The very first episode aired on April 2 through the team's official website, mobile app, and Facebook and YouTube accounts. The documentary is narrated by legendary sports commentator Kevin Harlan, and it features never before seen interviews with current and former players and coaches.
Since we're all at home until the spread of COVID-19 reaches its end, the Packers are hosting a virtual viewing party for Cheeseheads during the initial airing of each episode. Additionally, the team will hold weekly quizzes for fans, with one winner receiving the "Packers Legacy" Blu-ray box set.
If you happen to be obsessed with the NFL, this documentary could be just what you need to help fight the boredom in your homes. Plus, there are six episodes available to binge. What are you waiting for? Tune in!
