One would have thought that the Green Bay Packers had the mindset to add the kind of players this league year to make them favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Instead, they ignored their win-now window and focused on acquiring players more geared toward the future. That decision is even more head-scratching now, especially when you look at the plethora of names set to become free agents in 2021.

Left tackle David Bakhitari and defensive tackle Kenny Clark are set to earn lucrative deals no matter how they play next season, but these three of impending Packers free agents have far more to prove in 2020.

3. WR Devin Funchess

Many Packers fans expected the team to add a big name receiver on the trade market or in the NFL Draft. Instead, their lone addition to the corps was former Carolina Panther and Indianapolis Colt Devin Funchess. He shined during his four seasons with the Panthers, which netted him a one-year deal with the Colts in 2019. Unfortunately, Funchess' stint was a short one, as he suffered a broken collarbone in his lone game with the AFC South team. Now, he really has the chance to prove his worth with Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers targeting him downfield. Funchess will definitely earn a valuable contract next offseason if he builds some chemistry with Rodgers and lights up the stat sheet.

2. CB Kevin King

Kevin King's first two seasons with the Packers didn't work out too well, as they were shortened due to shoulder and hamstring injuries, but last season, King proved he was worth the second-round selection in 2017. In 15 games, the former Washington Husky was targeted 85 times, and allowed 50 receptions and four touchdowns. Despite those numbers, King still managed to haul in five interceptions. There's enough to like about King, but he has to put it all together to become a rock-solid starting corner. He can get a decently-sized contract with either the Packers or another team if he does so in 2020.

1. RB Aaron Jones

Aaron Jones is going to have a tough calendar year. He's a running back that's set to be a free agent in 2021,but NFL teams are increasingly skittish about handing over big money to halfbacks, mostly because they can draft a rookie on the cheap. However, Jones is special. He never got his true shot in his first two seasons due to ex-head coach Mike McCarthy keeping him on the bench. But once Matt LaFleur took over in Green Bay, Jones showed he's able to play like a top-10 running back in the entire league. From scrimmage, he tallied 1,558 yards and a league-high 19 touchdowns (16 rushing, three receiving) in his first full season as starter. Don't fall for the league's rhetori; Jones is worth Pro Bowl-level money, and he can prove that with another strong campaign.
