VIDEO: Twitter Thread Shows Incredible Similarities Between Packers QBs Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love
By Scott Rogust
Th Green Bay Packers fan base is known for its loyalty to the historic franchise. But this week, the organization has really tested everyone's patience. How so? A few months after their NFC Championship Game loss, the team opted to draft Jordan Love as quarterback Aaron Rodgers' successor instead of giving the two-time NFL MVP weapons to make a Super Bowl run in 2020 and beyond. Why would general manager Brian Gutekunst trade up four spots in the first round to take the polarizing prospect? Well, if you look at the Twitter thread below, you can see that Love has a little bit of Rodgers in him.
The movement in and out of the pocket. The patience. The arm. There's a lot for Packers fans to like about Love.
In case you wanted to further compare the two Packers quarterbacks, just look at this side-by-side clip.
Love is an extremely raw quarterback prospect that by no means will be ready to start immediately. But he possesses a skill set comparable to Patrick Mahomes and carries the very same gunslinger mentality as Rodgers. Once he puts everything together, he has the potential to be dangerous.
Luckily for the former Utah State signal caller, he landed in Green Bay to sit and learn on the bench for a couple of years, just like Rodgers did in 2005 while waiting for Brett Favre to take his curtain call.
