Packers and Bears Release Injury Report Ahead of Season-Opening Clash
By Jerry Trotta
Are you ready, ladies and gents? Regular season football returns in just one more day with NFC North rivals Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears set to kick off the 2019 NFL regular season campaign Thursday night at Soldier Field.
Both sides, however, are dealing with a notable number of injuries in their ranks, and have released their full injury reports ahead of the highly-anticipated showdown.
If you took the time to count up the Pack's slew of ailments, they have 18 compared to Chicago's three. The highest-profile takeaway from Green Bay's list? The fact that tight end Jimmy Graham was upgraded to a full participant in Tuesday's practice after being limited on Monday.
Though two notable names will be out.
Elsewhere, tailback Aaron Jones appears to be fully healed from his hamstring issue, while right tackle Bryan Bulaga returned after getting rested on Monday. Further, keep an eye on the status of veteran cornerback Tramon Williams, whose knee injury might be enough to keep him out of the contest.
The Bears, on the other hand, have't been dealt a harsh hand by the injury gods throughout training camp and the preseason. Tight end Trey Burton's groin remains an issue, however, as he hasn't gotten in a full practice this week. His absence would be a big blow to Mitch Trubisky and the Chicago offense if he's unable to go.
