Packers Announce Suspension of All Air-Related Travel for Team Employees

The latest in a string of seemingly every major sports entity shutting things down, the Green Bay Packers have announced that they will be suspending all air-related travel for franchise employees. As a cautionary measure in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the team will also be scaling back its facilities' operations.

As the number of cases continues to rise in the United States, more and more extreme measures have been taken by nation's major sporting leagues, including several NFL teams having recalled their scouts. The Packers, however, were the first to take the steps towards barring air travel.

There has been discussion of postponing the NFL free agency period, but nothing has been set in stone yet. The Packers will be turning away guests for a two-week period to prevent any unnecessary risks. In the meantime, the outlook on the NFL season continues to be a toss-up.

With only "critical staff" in place for the time being, this is one of what is likely to be many changes to day to day operations for teams around the league. The organization has left other businesses within Titletown open, but that may be subject to change should coronavirus conditions worsen.
