Blake Martinez does not sound like a man who believes he'll return to the only NFL home he's ever known next season. Seeking a new contract, the 26-year-old LB out of Stanford seemed resigned to the fact that he would be leaving Green Bay prior to the 2020 campaign after the team's NFC Championship Game loss, and he didn't absorb the resulting emotions easily.

"Contract's over after this," Martinez began. "It was a special place for me," he choked out, before looking up to the sky and breaking down.

"I love Green Bay. The fans. Everything about it. The players," Martinez continued, gritting his teeth with every word.

This is a tough watch for any Packers fan. Martinez was a more integral part of the defense when his career began in Green Bay, and it seemed like his energy would lend itself well to a defensive captain role. Just a few short years later, Martinez feels a bit expendable, usurped by other presences on that side of the ball.

Packer Nation knows Martinez always gave it his all, however, and he left every last bit of pride in the visitors' locker room in Santa Clara on this fateful Sunday, unable to keep up with Raheem Mostert in what was likely his final chance to impress the team's brass.
