Packers CB Jaire Alexander Suffered Broken Thumb in NFC Championship
By Sam Dunn

The Green Bay Packers enter the NFL offseason in need of some reflection, and much of it will be uncomfortable given the manner in which they bowed out in Sunday's NFC title game against the San Francisco 49ers, who shut out the Pack in the first half.
And discomfort is likewise the name of the game for cornerback Jaire Alexander, who suffered a thumb fracture on Sunday and was spotted afterward sporting a cast.
CB Jaire Alexander left the #Packers locker room with a cast on his right thumb. He said on his way to the team bus that it is in fact broken.

After a promising rookie campaign in 2018 as a first-round pick out of Louisville, Alexander started all 16 regular season games for Green Bay this season, plus both postseason games.
Notably, the 22-year old insisted that he has no interest in undergoing surgery.
Jaire Alexander confirmed he broke his thumb. "I ain't getting surgery even if I need it." #Packers

Well, Jaire, it's not clear the extent to which team doctors would concur with that. But a rugged sort of defiance would seem to be in character after such a deflating loss on the doorstep of the Super Bowl.
