Packers CB Kevin King Likely to Miss Sunday's Game Against Cowboys as Injury Woes Continue
By Kevin Aquino
Packers cornerback Kevin King is once again doubtful to take the field Sunday when his team squares off against the Cowboys, as the 24-year-old continues to nurse a groin injury.
Injuries have plagued the former second-round pick's start to NFL life, and it's been much the same in 2019. King dealt with a groin issue last season, to go along with shoulder, quad and hamstring ailments that have scourged him throughout his career.
If he is forced to miss Sunday's clash, it'll be King's 18th absence in less than three years with the team, during a span in which he's played in just 19 games, and never more than 10 in a single season.
The former Washington Husky exited the game in Week 4 after suffering the groin injury and didn't practice with the team on Wednesday or Thursday, which doesn't bode well for his availability this weekend.
In four games this season, King has already matched his 2018 tackle tally with 17 and has logged four passes defensed, twice as much as last season. Clearly he has the talent to succeed in the league, but constant knocks to his body have limited his impact.
One of the most underrated abilities is availability, and King has been far from available for the Pack. The banged-up Packers will trudge on with or without King this Sunday, but the young DB's continued injury woes are certainly a red flag.
