Packers Claim RB Keith Ford After Waiving OT Jason Spriggs
The Packers are making moves at the margins in hopes of gaining a competitive advantage over the NFC North heading into the preseason.
Green Bay claimed former Buffalo Bills running back Keith Ford off waivers after offensive tackle Jason Spriggs was waived.
That's the end of the road for Spriggs, after the team selected him in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent three seasons with the team and started nine games out of the 36 he appeared in.
As for Ford, the Colts released him after claiming former Texans' running back D'Onta Foreman. Houston surprisingly released the back over the weekend after he reportedly was out of shape for camp as he recovered from an Achilles injury suffered his rookie year.
All signs point towards Ford being a depth signing for training camp with the presence of both Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams in the running backs room.
Last year with the Bills, Ford posted 79 yards on 21 attempts in two games in addition to 3 receptions for 21 yards.
