Packers Draft Son of Longtime Eagles Tackle Jon Runyan
The Green Bay Packers have had a questionable draft in 2020. While fans may be frustrated the team has not added a wide receiver, talent has been added elsewhere on offense.
One player with a familiar name is Jon Runyan Jr., the offensive lineman out of Michigan taken in the sixth round by the Packers. He is the son of longtime Philadelphia Eagles tackle Jon Runyan, who was in the NFL from 1996-2009 after also being drafted out of Michigan.
The elder Runyan has an interesting life. After football he became a U.S. Representative and now helps hand out fines and suspensions for the NFL. He may end up handing out a fine to his own son one day as the Runyan tradition continues in the NFL.
Runyan Jr. will look to follow in his father's footsteps and have his own long and successful NFL career. His dad made one Pro Bowl and was an All-Pro in 1999.
While this technically counts as help up front for Aaron Rodgers, we're not sure he's in the mood.
