Packers Fan Favorite Jake Kumerow Leaves Practice Nursing Hand Issue
By Sean Facey
One of Packer faithful's favorite players had to leave practice on Monday.
Beloved wide receiver Jake Kumerow had to leave practice due to a hand issue that seemed to be causing him some discomfort at the team's Family Night.
His performance in the Family Night scrimmage was one that inspired confidence, making the injury more worrisome.
Kumerow appeared in five games for the Packers last year. It was his first taste of NFL action after he spent the first two years of his career with the Bengals.
He finished the year with eight receptions on 11 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown as a minor part of Green Bay's 6-9-1 campaign. Kumerow has quietly turned into one of Aaron Rodgers' preferred targets in the early going heading into the 2019 season.
For a team that's fairly thin at wide receiver, the injury doesn't do much to spur confidence in this year's batch of receivers. At the very least, Kumerow figured to be a serviceable depth piece.
Hopefully the injury doesn't balloon into something more serious. The Packers need him on the depth chart and the fans want to see him succeed.
