Packers Fan Offers to Return Super Bowl Towel to TE Tom Crabtree Out of Nowhere and Green Bay Remains the Best
By Adam Weinrib
Is there any other sports city in America where a fan would steal a player's property during the madness of a celebration, then offer to return it out of the goodness of his heart, unprompted, a decade later?!
The Green Bay Packers just have something completely special going on here.
Remember Packers tight end Tom Crabtree? He was a fun-loving muscle-bound guy who found his way into a number of key contests, and captured a Super Bowl ring with the Pack in 2011.
During the team's celebration of that title at Lambeau Park in the weeks that followed, Crabtree got his Super Bowl towel swiped right off his back, and he's...well, he's about to get it back. Let him tell it.
Yes, this is really happening.
Though Crabtree censored the generous donor's name, the man himself later came forward on Twitter, displaying the genuine artifact.
And, in case you needed more, he dropped photo proof of his attendance at the XLV celebration.
Yes, Cory, you're right. This does likely matter more to the NFL veteran than it does to you, and he will certainly pay you back in kind. Above-and-beyond generosity from Packer Nation...but did you expect anything else?!
