Packers FB Danny Vitale Poised to Explode in Matt LaFleur's Offense
By Sean Facey

Fullback is football's forgotten position. Outside of blocking, many head coaches in the NFL have forgone the use of it altogether. Only two full-time fullbacks managed triple digits in rushing yards in 2019.
However, that's not the case for Matt LaFleur. The new Green Bay Packers head coach studied under Kyle Shanahan, one of the few coaches to call upon the fullback position around the league, and he's set to put Danny Vitale in line for an explosive season in 2019.

Vitale hasn't gotten much of a chance to prove what he can do on offense in his young career. He's totaled 8 touchdowns, all of them receptions, in his three-year career, managing a grand total of 48 yards from scrimmage.
Under LaFleur, however, he'll have the chance to achieve his full offensive potential.
He could reach the levels of production seen from the likes of Kyle Juszczyk, a fullback who's gone to three straight Pro Bowls since 2016 while totaling 988 scrimmage yards in 46 games.

It might not sound like much, but that's a ridiculous amount of production out of the fullback position in the modern NFL.
Vitale and LaFleur can be the next step in bringing the position back in vogue, all they need is for the 2019 season to start.
