Packers Get Incredibly Positive Update on Davante Adams' Injury
By Michael Luciano
The only thing that could stop Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams last night was, well, Davante Adams. Despite recording 180 yards receiving on 10 catches against the likes of Sidney Jones and Avonte Maddox, the star wideout left the game with turf toe.
Adams, who was initially expected to miss a good chunk of time due to the turf toe, might not be out for too long. According to Ian Rapoport, the Packers wideout had an MRI and the injury is not expected to be serious.
Adams may not have a touchdown this year, but he is continuing his ascension up the NFL receiver ranks following his first 1,000 yard campaign last season.
The Packers offense came to a halt Thursday night when he exited the game, especially in the red zone, so any time that he misses would be a big blow to the offense.
With Adams and Equanimeous St. Brown both banged up, Geronimo Allison and second-year receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling appear to be in line for more targets, along with fellow youngsters Allen Lazard and Darrius Shepherd.
The results on Adams' MRI are certainly encouraging, and hopefully he'll be able to take the field in Week 5 against the Cowboys.
On the season the 26-year-old has 25 receptions for 378 yards, hauling in a career-best 69.4% of passes thrown his way.
