Packers Get Much-Needed Boost to Secondary Right Ahead of Matchup With Panthers
By Michael Luciano
The Green Bay Packers' new-look secondary was scheduled to play against Christian McCaffrey and the Carolina Panthers without several of their key starters.
But Packers fans can breathe easy knowing that a crisis has been averted. Both Jaire Alexander and Adrian Amos, who were questionable to play in this game, are both active. Safety Ibraheim Campbell, who hasn't played in almost a year after tearing an ACL, is also slated to make his return to action.
Alexander, who has emerged as one of the most promising young cornerbacks in the league, has been banged up of late due to a groin injury. With him healthy, DJ Moore's day just got much harder.
Amos, who has 47 tackles and four passes defended, has been everything the Packers expected they would get after luring him over from the Chicago Bears. He's emerged as a leader of Green Bay's revitalized back end.
Kyle Allen has shown he can pick apart a secondary if given time, so Green Bay getting these three back is a major bonus.
