Packers GM Admits Team Needs Far More Consistency From No. 2 Receiver Spot
By Michael Luciano

The Green Bay Packers have been extremely fortunate to have benefitted from the play of star wide receiver Davante Adams in recent years. However, it has become clear that they can't rely on Aaron Rodgers hooking up with Adams as their sole source of splash plays in the passing game.
General Manager Brian Gutekunst called out the receivers' room for their inability to produce a quality No. 2 to Adams over the course of the season. He's not wrong here.
Gutekunst on #Packers' inability to find a consistent No. 2 WR: "We didn't have anybody step into that role consistently. I think there will be opportunities for guys next year, and that will be a position where we look to add."

Gutekunst did give credit where credit was due, acknowledging the standout play of wide receiver Allen Lazard, who piled up 477 receiving yards and three touchdowns this campaign. The likes of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Geronimo Allison both had down years amid injuries and plain old poor performance, though.
Gutekunst has all but confirmed a No. 2 wide receiver will be a top focus for the organization this offseason.
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst noted that different receivers stepped up at different times -- he specifically mentioned Allen Lazard -- but "we didn't have the consistency."

The Packers could look to hit a home run in free agency, or try to go after one of the many talented receivers in what has proven to be an exceptionally deep class in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Either way, Adams can't do it all by himself, and that WR room needs a major boost.
