Jordan Love's Attitude About Proving Himself is Exactly What Packers Fans Needed to Hear
By Jerry Trotta

Green Bay Packers fans were left in a disconcerting state following the 2020 NFL Draft, during which the franchise traded up to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love at No. 26 overall. The pick was met with a wave of vitriol from the media, and rightfully so. Choosing to nab Aaron Rodgers' successor rather than equip him with more offensive weapons in a loaded wide receiver class just defies logic, especially for a team that was fresh off an appearance in the NFC Championship Game.
While most of the post-draft buzz has centered on Rodgers' future with the organization, there's been hardly a peep of what lies in store for Love.
Well, the former Aggie's mindset about proving himself is guaranteed to lift the spirits of Packers supporters.
Jordan Love on if there’s pressure to justify the Packers pick: “No matter where I would have landed, that was the goal for me. You ought to go out there & prove yourself... It’s a job, you’ve got to be able to keep that.” More of my 1 on 1 w/ him coming up on #NFLNow @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/SS0WytM9mZ

Love couldn't have scripted that better if he tried. The fact that he's entering his rookie season with the attitude that his job isn't secured is awesome. That obviously isn't the case, but Love's comments prove that he's going to do everything in is power to impress the Packers coaching staff from Day 1.

It's not often that rookies showcase this sort of modesty, and Love's first comments since Draft night suggest that he's going to fit in just fine as Rodgers' backup regardless of whether or not the two-time MVP takes him under his wing.
