Unexpected Packer Anointed NFL's Unluckiest Receiver in 2019
By Scott Rogust

The Green Bay Packers have been the brunt of plenty of jokes this offseason due to their lack of moves to put them over the edge against the top teams in the NFC. Many thought the team would revamp their receiving corps, which was a major factor in the team failing to make Super Bowl LIV. As it turns out, we can't place full blame on one receiver for that lack of success.
According to Pro Football Focus, Marquez Valdes-Scantling was the unluckiest receiver of the entire 2019 NFL season, as 48% of his targets were considered uncatchable.

That's right, one of the best quarterback in the league in Aaron Rodgers did himself no favors when throwing the ball to the 2018 fifth-round pick. Initially, many surely thought that the knee and ankle injuries he suffered back in October were the reason for his dip in production -- the numbers suggest otherwise.
Valdes-Scantling played all 16 games this past campaign despite his ailments, recording 26 receptions for 452 yards and two touchdowns. However, out of his 56 targets, "MVS" dropped 30 of them.
Don't think it was actually even really MVS' fault his production dropped off in the 2nd half. Remember he was playing through multiple injuries.

From Week 8 on, Aaron Rodgers was 0/7 targeting MVS on throws of 20+ but at least 5 of those were on the QB by my count.

We all owe Valdes-Scantling a sincere apology. His up-and-down sophomore season isn't all his fault, some of that blame goes towards "Mr. Discount Double Check."
