Packers Kicker Mason Crosby Provides Incredible Update on Wife's Battle With Cancer
By Scott Rogust
Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby has successfully converted game-winning field goals and has won a Super Bowl. But there was no greater victory than the one he received this offseason.
Crosby revealed during an interview with CBS 58's Scott Grodsky on Tuesday that his wife, Molly, is officially free of lung cancer.
This tremendous news came right before the coronavirus pandemic hit the United States.
The Crosby family has been through a lot this past year. Prior to the start of last season, Crosby received the news that Molly had been diagnosed with lung cancer. Shortly afterwards, Molly underwent surgery to remove a tumor on her right lung. Later on in the year, Crosby's sister-in-law, Brittany, passed away after a fight with ovarian cancer.
Despite all of this going on, Crosby continued to play at a high level for the Packers. In 16 games, Crosby successfully kicked 22-of-24 field goal attempts and converted 40-of-41 extra point attempts.
After Molly's diagnosis, Crosby actively worked alongside the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the charitable organization was set to have the Annual Lombardi Golf Classic. Instead, the foundation will hold the Stronger Together Virtual Gala on May 13, which will raise money to prevent cancer and care for those currently fighting the disease. The event will stream on the foundation's official Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram accounts.
We can all use good news during these turbulent times we're currently living through. Luckily, Molly Crosby has received a clean bill of health, which is much more important than any move the Packers organization made this offseason.
