Packers Meeting With Washington State's Dezmon Patmon After East-West Shrine Bowl Emergence

The Green Bay Packers will almost assuredly add another wide receiver in the 2020 NFL draft to bolster a generally weak receivers room outside of Davante Adams, and their latest late-round gem might have been unearthed at the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Washington State WR Dez Patmon, who clocks in at 6-4 and 228 pounds, was one of the most impressive wideouts in a stacked West group on Day 3 of practices. His contested catch skills will make him some money in the NFL, as shown when he reeled in this throw from Utah's Tyler Huntley.

After his impressive day, Patmon met with the Packers brass.

The 6-4, 228 pound receiver from San Diego caught 58 passes for 672 yards and eight touchdowns in Mike Leach's final season in Pullman.

Patmon said that although he is practicing alongside a talented group of tall receivers, including Ohio State's Binjimen Victor and Oregon's Juwan Johnson, he thinks that his speed and athleticism is what has made him stand out.

Patmon, who said he expects to find the end zone a few times in the actual game, talked with the Packers for a long time after practices had concluded, indicating that mutual interest between the two parties already exists.

Rodgers could always use another big target in the red zone, and Patmon represents a premium athlete with a chiseled frame out wide that could come down with some 50/50 balls next season in Green Bay.
