Packers Officially Replace Jimmy Graham and Go Tight End in 3rd Round
By Michael Luciano
The Green Bay Packers finally added a tight end that can replace Jimmy Graham, as their third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft should compete with Jace Sternberger for the starting job.
The Packers used pick No. 94 on Cincinnati tight end Josiah Deguara.
It's not a wide receiver, but it's a pass catcher for Aaron Rodgers, so I guess that counts as a win.
Deguara was the most productive tight end in Cincinnati history, which is impressive considering former Eagles tight end Brent Celek and All-Pro Chiefs star Travis Kelce are both former Bearcats. Deguara lined up at fullback, H-back, and tight end, and he was productive at all of them given what a solid receiver he is in the red zone.
A plus playmaker as a runner, Deguara will make Rodgers very happy.
Graham was simply not getting it done, and a player like Deguara could be one of those sneaky additions who makes a key play in a late-season game against a division rival that helps the playoff push.
