Stats Prove Packers LG Elgton Jenkins Actually Deserves Rookie of the Year Consideration
By Ian Anderson

Effective offensive lineman are rarely given the plaudits they deserve. The latest case? That of Green Bay Packers rookie Elgton Jenkins.
The dynamic left guard is quietly having one of the best seasons you could hope to see from a first-year offensive lineman. He's been an essential contributor to Green Bay's success so far this season, and it's time to give him his due.
We can start by recognizing his case for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Since taking over as starter, #Packers LG Elgton Jenkins has unquestionably been the best rookie OL in the NFL.

Jenkins deserves to be Rookie of the Year:https://t.co/4LdPimaZ1E
Through 10 games this season, the second-round pick out of Mississippi State has allowed zero sacks and zero QB hits against Aaron Rodgers to go along with only 10 total pressures.
Jenkins is currently the only guard in the entire NFL without a sack or hit allowed this season.
These are stellar numbers that have gone largely unspoken across the NFL community and the Green Bay Packers left guard needs to start seeing the recognition that he deserves.

Elgton Jenkins
The season Jenkins is having is worthy of consideration not just for Rookie of the Year -- though the odds are against him given how heavily it favors skill players -- but a Pro Bowl nod as well. He really has been that good.
His performance has been pivotal to the Packers' success, and is one of the reasons that they have reached an 8-2 record. If Green Bay hopes to be the No 1. seed in the NFC, they had better hope Jenkins can keep up his fine form.
