Packers Rookie Safety Darnell Savage Placed on Non-Football Illness List for Bizarre Reason
By Michael Luciano

Life in the NFL hasn't started off so smoothly for Green Bay Packers first-round pick Darnell Savage, as he's already been placed on the non-football illness list.
Savage, the No. 21 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft and former Maryland safety, was placed on the NFI, but can be activated off the list at any time, unlike the PUP list.

Packers fans can exhale, however, as the situation with Savage is nothing serious, and he is widely expected to be activated within the next few days.
Good news is that this has been described to me as nothing serious and Savage should be on the field within a few days. https://t.co/AIlpqzhgJM

In fact, Savage is suffering from a common teenage malady.
Just had his wisdom teeth taken out, I’m told. No football concerns here. https://t.co/7D8726coCt

Darnell After Dentist, baby!!
The former Big Ten star racked up 52 tackles and four interceptions during his last season in College Park. Savage, who showed off his blistering speed with a 4.36 time at the NFL combine, figures to be a big part of Green Bay's revamped secondary that will feature former Chicago Bears safety Adrian Amos.
Savage and his chaotic style of play should be back on the field in Green Bay sooner rather than later.
