Packers Sign CB Jackson Porter and Release S Mike Tyson
With the 2019 regular season nearly upon us, the Packers are continuing to put the finishing touches on their roster.
On Monday morning, the team decided to sign young cornerback Jackson Porter and part ways with safety Mike Tyson.
Tyson has been battling injuries, so the news of his release shouldn't come as a surprise. As for Porter, he'll be looking to stick with Green Bay after a short stint with the Baltimore Ravens.
Porter went undrafted last year, but ended up signing with Baltimore. Though he didn't make the team, his body of work at the University of Massachusetts is solid. As for Tyson, he's a former sixth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks.
In Matt LaFleur's first season as head coach, getting back to the postseason will be the top priority. The defense will be looked at to make big plays each Sunday to help out the stout offense, which is led by Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams.
Packers fans will get to see the real product on the field in short time.
