Packers Reportedly Sign Mason Crosby to 3-Year Deal to Keep Him in Green Bay
By Michael Luciano
The Green Bay Packers had one of the better special teams units in the league last season, with Mason Crosby kicking (as always) and JK Scott handling punting duties. Per sources, one half of that duo has been rewarded with a shiny new contract.
Crosby, 35, signed a new three-year deal that will keep him in Green Bay until after the 2022 season, if he so chooses.
Crosby has been the kicker in Green Bay for the last 13 seasons, and he has a Super Bowl ring to show for it. While Crosby has drilled 81 percent of his kicks as a Packer, his most recent season stands out, as his 91.7 percent success rate was the highest of his entire career.
Considering the personal adversity he dealt with while playing at a career-best level and helping Green Bay make it to an NFC Championship game, Crosby has more than earned this new deal.
Crosby has never made a Pro Bowl, yet he remains one of the most deadly accurate kickers in all of football. He has bailed Green Bay out on several occasions with clutch kicks, and he has been properly compensated for his heroism late in games.
