Packers TE Jace Sternberger Calls Out Geoff Schwartz Over Lazy Aaron Rodgers-Jordan Love Take
By Jerry Trotta

Aaron Rodgers' reputation as a player who's difficult to get along with has seen him on the front end of heavy slander, following the Green Bay Packers' selection of Utah State quarterback Jordan Love in the first round (No. 26 overall) of the NFL Draft.
The pick, even though it mirrors Rodgers' selection back in 2005 while Brett Favre was still the starter, was rightfully lampooned by the media. However, the selection of Love has also led to some truly brutal takes on the two-time MVP.
Take this one from former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz, for instance.
It’s fair to point out that Rodgers isn’t getting paid to mentor Love. Will Love learn from Rodgers. Of course. Will Rodgers go out of his way to help Love, no.

Schwartz took shots at Rodgers not once, but twice. Predicting that the 36-year-old won't mentor the former Aggie is the very definition of lazy.
This narrative took a neat turn when one of Rodgers' teammates -- tight end Jace Sternberger -- clapped back at Schwartz for his ridiculous assumption. Keep in mind that Sternberger hasn't been with the Packers all that long. He was a third-round pick in 2019.
The fact that the young TE is loudly backing his quarterback proves that Rodgers goes out of his way to counsel rookies.
It’s fair to point out that you’re not in our locker room therefore you really have “NO ?” idea how 12 treats young guys like myself. He’s always pushing us to learn more. Demands perfection. https://t.co/p80Ji7FUS4

Unfortunately, Schwartz offered up another irrational take on the QB situation in Green Bay, mansplaining Sternberger's life back to himself.
What does that have to do with mentoring Jordan Love? Is Rodgers going to take Love under his wing like Alex Smith did Mahomes? Pushing someone to learn more to help the offense is much different than mentoring his direct replacement. You know this.

Sternberger smartly passed on dignifying that nonsense with a response.
Rodgers has every right to be annoyed with the Packers for turning down the opportunity to draft a wide receiver, but to say that he's going to give Love the cold shoulder as his backup is shortsighted, especially when someone IN THE LOCKER ROOM is telling you otherwise. Give the eight-time Pro Bowler the benefit of the doubt, for crying out loud. He didn't create this mess.
