Packers Throw Cold Water on Rumor They've Been Awarded 2022 Draft
By Michael Luciano

News broke early this morning that the league had awarded the 2022 NFL draft to Green Bay, Wisconsin, home of one of the most devoted fanbases in the entire sport.
Unfortunately for all the cheeseheads out there, the Packers VP of Communications was here to extinguish all the rumors that the draft in Green Bay was signed, sealed, and delivered. While they are still interested in the opportunity, nothing official has been consummated.
As we’ve stated publicly in the past, the Packers/Green Bay maintain an interest in hosting the NFL Draft, but we have not been awarded that opportunity in 2022. #Packers #GoPackGo

The location of 2022 draft is still up in the air, despite the fact that Cleveland has been confirmed as the host city for the 2021 draft, while Kansas City will host it in 2023. Given how passionate the fan base is and what that franchise means to the history and foundation of the league, Green Bay seems like a perfect location, weather permitting.
This could still happen, but nothing has been made final as of right now.
Hasn’t been awarded yet. Green Bay still in consideration for hosting 2022 NFL Draft. Not a done deal for any city yet. https://t.co/3dBmrxPoIA

It appears that the rumor mill was a bit too reactionary with this one, as the 2022 draft location is still a complete mystery. Hopefully the league makes the sensible decision to award one of the most passionate local fanbases with the draft.
