A former Duke Blue Devil has put a halt to his NFL career.

Undrafted free agent Davis Koppenhaver reportedly informed the Green Bay Packers of his decision to leave the team and pursue a career outside of football on Thursday. The Packers placed the rookie on their reserve/retired list shortly afterward, officially opening up a spot on their roster.

Koppenhaver signed with Green Bay on May 3 after finishing his collegiate career with Duke. After graduating with a degree in psychology and a certificate in markets and management in May 2018, Koppenhaver is currently pursuing his masters degree in management studies.

As a member of the Blue Devils, Koppenhaver set a school record for most touchdown receptions by a tight end with 12. Through 41 career games, Koppenhaver recorded 49 receptions for 431 yards. The tight end also earned Academic All-ACC honors in 2018.

With Koppenhaver off the roster, the Packers' tight end depth chart in OTA's is now made up of Jimmy Graham, Marcedes Lewis, Jace Sternberger, Robert Tonyan, and Evan Baylis.
